Structural Hollow Section
A Structural Hollow Section (SHS) is a metal profile with a hollow tubular cross-section, made from mild steel grades which are high strength materials. They have excellent resistance to torsion and can serve as beams as well.
There are different SHS available – such as rectangle, square, circular etc. They are often filled with concrete fire-rating, as well as robustness. SHS profiles, especially the rectangular ones, are popularly used in welded steel frames, where members experience loading in multiple directions. Square and circular SHS have very efficient shapes for multiple-axis loading as they have uniform geometric shape and there is uniform strength along two or more cross-sectional axes.
FISTCO provides an array of Grades like EN, DIN, BS &A STM.
